Our Thanksgiving Adventure

I know this is sort of late, but I wanted to share these pictures. This year Daniel took me & the girls for a getaway to Portland for Thanksgiving. It was very nice! Here are some pictures of our adventures.

Almighty God, the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, has given you the new birth of water and the Spirit and has forgiven you all your sins. May He strengthen you with His grace to life everlasting. The Lord preserve your coming in and your going out from this time forth and forevermore. Amen.

A Good Big Sister!

Isabella loves her little sister! It is so sweet to watch her. As she grows, I want her to always look after and care for her sister. Here is a short clip.

The income was calculated by combining the average wages, plus overtime, for the jobs a mom typically performs, including laundress, janitor, driver, cook, facilities manager, psychologist, and CEO (of the household). The results also showed that the average stay-at-home mom works a grueling 94.7-hour week and would make an average of $22.94 an hour.

Now, thanks to our husbands and the washing water of the Word, the joy of motherhood far outweighs any pay but it is interesting that the spirit of this age wants to belittle mothers who stay home and have never "had a job". Oh really??

My Little Flower

Here are some other pictures of my dear sweet Violet. She's just over a week old and has already changed so much. She is such a peaceful baby! Quite different from my wonderful Isabella. God makes each of them so different and so special. I'm very thankful and blessed.

Our New Precious Gift

Violet Louise Hicks was born on October 1 at 8:02pm. 

She weighed 6 lbs. 14 oz. and was 18 3/4'' long. 

She is such a special gift to our family. We love her very much!  

And they brought unto him also infants, that he would touch them: but when his disciples saw it, they rebuked them. But Jesus called them unto him, and said, Suffer little children to come unto me, and forbid them not: for of such is the kingdom of God. The Joys of Life

As many of you already know, Isabella LOVES cupcakes. She also loves to help make them. So, that's what we did this morning. This is one of the many little joys I find in being a mother although there are too many to count. One thing I know we've always heard and I've really found to be true of late, is that if you slow down a little from all the "daily" tasks, you'll be surprised at how much you can receive from the Lord through your children.

And...here they are. They are called Circus Animal Cookies Cupcakes.
