Everyday I look at my little girl, I am overwhelmed at the goodness and mercy of God. I keep thinking of the scripture in Ephesians 2: "But God, so rich is He in His mercy! ... Even when we were dead (slain) by [our own] shortcomings and trespasses, He made us alive together in fellowship and in union with Christ..."
And He has given us such treasures as our children to raise to His glory. What a wonderful and yet sobering vocation. Again, God being rich in mercy, has given us the fellowship of saints. But back to my thoughts earlier about the wonderful blessings that our children are to us. Here's a tid-bit from Luther...
"Why do you not daily learn the article of divine creation by looking at your children and offspring, who stand before you? They are of far greater worth than all the fruits of the tree. Here you may behold the providence of God, who created them out of nothing." What Luther Says 405
Thank you Jesus! God is rich in mercy and has blessed us exceedingly. I, too, am constantly overwhelmed when I look at my little babe.
