Unusual Post

This is sort of an unusual post for me but I simply had to share these pictures with you all! 

My sister, Amy, made these yesterday. Aren't they simply adorable? Think of the endless possibilities for these little cupcakes...little bakery or coffee shop perhaps??? Well, I know I'm excited! 

3 Months!

Today our little Isabella is 3 months old. Amazing! We are so very thankful for her. She is such a special gift. Today we had to stay home from church because she has a pretty bad cold & cough. As I look at her so helpless and dependent, I just wish it were me and not her. I was reminded of this scripture from Luke11:13...

If ye then, being evil, know how to give good gifts unto your children: how much more shall your heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to them that ask him?

By the way, that cute little penguin was from her Uncle Ryan!

God Marvelously Creates Children-and Will Provide for Them

Everyday I look at my little girl, I am overwhelmed at the goodness and mercy of God. I keep thinking of the scripture in Ephesians 2: "But God, so rich is He in His mercy! ... Even when we were dead (slain) by [our own] shortcomings and trespasses, He made us alive together in fellowship and in union with Christ..."

And He has given us such treasures as our children to raise to His glory. What a wonderful and yet sobering vocation. Again, God being rich in mercy, has given us the fellowship of saints. But back to my thoughts earlier about the wonderful blessings that our children are to us. Here's a tid-bit from Luther...

"Why do you not daily learn the article of divine creation by looking at your children and offspring, who stand before you? They are of far greater worth than all the fruits of the tree.
